One of our most complex projects to date is turning a Mason 54 (sloop) into a yawl. Our team is working closely with the boat owners on the project, as well as with naval architects at Ed Joy Design and metalsmiths at Cumberland Ironworks. To alter the rig and extend the lines of the boat, the GIBY team is fabricating and installing a boomkin and bowsprit, mounting additional chain plates to accommodate the new mizzen mast, and installing a bobstay. This week, the bowsprit was craned into place for dry-fitting!
