Mickey has pulled old wiring, run new cables, and upgraded the house bank aboard a Hylas 46. The new Firefly batteries, along with a rehabbed alternator and new regulator – programed for optimization – are designed to improve the boat’s charging ability via shore power. Electrical system upgrades for this boat also include the replacement of the windlass battery, the relocation of the Optima start battery, and a new PICO battery monitor that is interfaced with holding tank levels.
