A recent Safe Harbor sustainability initiative allowed us to “go green” with a Great Island Cap Ex project. Three of our largest storage buildings are now covered with solar panels. These large arrays are designed to supply 100% of our energy consumption. Any surplus will be returned to the grid. Included in the project are several EV charging ports, located at the base of the main parking lot. These will be active in the weeks ahead, well ahead of the 2025 boating season. The installation of this new system was managed locally by Maine Solar Solutions.
