Vessel: Mason 54 Sailing Yacht
Name: Signe
Owner: Jon P.
Hailing Port: Old Lyme, CT
When a father/son team decided to turn a 54′ sloop into a yawl, they looked for a yard and naval architect willing and ready to embrace the challenge. They chose GIBY and Ed Joy Design. The job was unusual and would represent one of GIBY’s most complex projects to date. But the team was determined to turn the clients’ vision into reality. Project meetings helped to lay the groundwork. Once the job was set in motion, good communication remained key. GIBY’s riggers and carpenters were called upon for their ingenuity and creativity, and acted as problem-solvers as needed. For metalsmithing, Cumberland Ironworks was employed. The end result? A custom yawl that looks and performs just as the owners hoped it would.
