Great Island Boat Yard has been selected by Bruckmann Yachts, a highly respected builder of custom motor and sailing vessels, as an authorized commissioning, warranty, and service yard for their boats.  Bruckmann Yachts, an Ontario-based company with a worldwide presence, is often compared to the likes of more well-known manufacturers such as Hinckley, Alden, and Morris Yachts.  From the stylish and practical Abaco 40 Daycruiser, to the superior 50′ Bruckmann MK II Cruising Sailboat, these vessels showcase classic lines while giving their owners great performance.  We are honored that they have entrusted GIBY to help ensure long-term reliability and owner satisfaction of their vessels.

GIBY currently has five world class Bruckmanns under our care, including Hull #2 of the Abaco 40, which accompanied GIBY to the Newport International Boat Show this fall.  The Abaco will store in our new facility this winter and make the delivery to Long Island in the springtime under new ownership.  Hull #3 of the Abaco 40 is currently being built in Canada.  The other Bruckmanns we maintain are Bonaventure, Loveseatoo, Mad Dash and Surprise, all Bruckmann 50 MK II Sailing Yachts.

Through this partnership our team at GIBY will continue to build upon existing knowledge of Bruckmann Yachts with a commitment to learning their designs, cataloging their drawings, and working with their team professionally and effectively.  Our close proximity to Portland makes the yard a convenient home base while providing Bruckmann yacht owners with state of the art facilities and the superior service they should come to expect to maintain owner confidence.
