Crafting a new dinette table is one of the many projects the GIBY team is tackling as part of a Kanter 54 refit. For the tabletop, quarter-sawn cherry has been hand-selected for grain and figure and a smoothing plane has been used to remove the rough machine finish. The planks have been glued and clamped to give the new dining surface the necessary width. Next, final fabrication and finish work will bring the new piece to life.
