John G. is done fabricating, dry-fitting, polishing, and mounting the stainless tracks for the new Mason 54 hatch. Yesterday, Steve C. began carving the teak into its final form. But, the curved top that Steve is creating will be somewhat of an optical illusion!
The back edge and underside of the hatch will actually remain flat. This trickery will give the hatch a nice arc when viewed from it’s forward edge, while still allowing it to slide (fit) under the existing seahood. This will provide the aesthetic the owners desire and deliver the function required.
