The effort to refasten and restore original teak decks on a Little Harbor 44 is well underway! Over 1200 epoxied bungs have already been removed. Soon, the old #8 fasteners will be replaced with #10 stainless steel fasteners. After all has been rebedded and rebunged, any failed, delaminated seams will be recaulked with a product by Teak Decking Systems. Additional hardware, such as chainplate covers, will then be removed, clearing the way for the crew to hard sand the entire surface.
When all is done, the decks on this lovely yacht will look brand new!
Steve C, shipwright extrodinaire, is leading the charge on this project. He expects to complete the job within a three week timeframe.
