We’ve just returned from another Newport International Boat Show (NIBS). Attendance was excellent, the weather was cooperative, and we saw many of you there! As always, it was a pleasure viewing the latest and greatest…and having a chance to connect with so many of you about your boat and project goals.
While at the Show, we were fortunate to recieve a lot of positive feedback about the work we’re doing at GIBY. This kind of feedback makes us feel good about the path we’re on and motivates us to continue looking for new ways to keep Great Island “great”, even as we move beyond our first decade with a business model that we feel is still unique to our industry.
Unique to our GIBY Show experience this year was the opportunity to show off a vintage 1974 Herreshoff Harbor Pilot Launch. Our team recently restored this boat for our friends at Provincetown Marina. The boat, looking like new and flying the GIBY burgee, was on full display in the Provincetown Marina booth for all to see.
Two other boats, maintained/refit by GIBY, were also there. These, a Bruckmann 50 and Jarvis Newamn 46, were in the water as part of the Newport Brokerage Show. Both looked very nice among a fleet of equally beautiful boats.
