Vessel: Trintella 47
Name: Satori
Owner: Paul & Diane N.
Hailing Port: Charleston, SC
The refurbishment of Satori was an extensive winter project for GIBY. Owners Paul and Diane had sailed her throughout the Caribbean. Great Island Boat Yard was chosen to complete a number of improvements prior to her embarking on a Mediterranean cruise. Satori got the full Awlgrip treatment on her house, hull and mast. We resolved a number of nagging and mysterious issues on the electronics, mechanical, and electrical systems. Mickey designed and completed modifications to make Satori fully compatible with 220 VAC, 50 Hz power. Jon Shamel replaced the teak deck in the cockpit. The most interesting element of the project…a custom-designed and fabricated bow fitting that secures two anchors, two electric furlers, and a furling code zero. That is a lot of functionality packed into a very small, high stress area of the boat. The riggers, electricians, and fiberglass crews all worked together to make this an elegant and functional solution.
