We’re in the final stages of spec’ing, mounting, and plumbing a Spectra watermaker aboard a 2000 Caliber 40. The installation includes locating the unit, fabricating custom shelving, connecting a flow meter, and adding a thru-hull for a dedicated water supply. The owners plan to sail south in the coming season and, therefore, are working with the SHGI team to prepare the boat for the voyage. Self-sufficiency will be key to providing cruising freedoms.
